Brian Wilson to perform long-lost masterpiece
Brian Wilson is to perform his lost masterpiece album Smile in its
entirety for the first time in a series of UK shows.
Beach Boy Wilson worked for months on the album, adopting ever more
bizarre recording methods, but it has never been released.
He is to play the 35-year-old album at London’s Royal Festival Hall
during a tour early next year, reports the NME.
Smile was to be the follow-up to the 1966 album Pet Sounds as Wilson
attempted to outdo The Beatles who had released their Revolver album.
The tapes are thought to have been sealed in a vault, and only
fragments of the recordings have ever been made available.
